Aims of the course:
● To be aware of learning opportunities outside of the classroom
● To make links between science learning and relate it to the real
● To be able to plan some lessons for their own setting
During this course, participants will be taking a tour of the school grounds and discuss teaching opportunities. Staff will then plan activities for their own settings. (Participants will need to bring photos of their outdoor spaces.)
Participants will also reflect on their own setting and plan out activities that can be used in their own settings.

Kulvinder have been teaching for over 20 years now and is currently an Assistant Headteacher at Northbury Primary School in Barking. Kulvinder has been head of year across the junior school and has a wide range of teaching experiences. Northbury is a PSQM school and we have just submitted to renew this and upgrade to Gold. We have also achieved the Space Education Quality Mark- Gold standard. In a wider role, Kulvinder is a member of the ASE Primary Science Committee and also a Primary Science Teaching Trust fellow, which means he was awarded ‘Science Teacher of the Year’ in 2012. Kulvinder believes in very practical science and making science fun, accessible and enjoyable. Kulvinder is currently working on assessment across the school and also building in more STEM opportunities across the school.
