This training is aimed at senior leaders, curriculum managers, teachers, speech and language therapists and other professionals working with children and young people who have severe learning difficulties and associated speech, language and communication needs. The course encourages active participation as trainees work with pupils in classrooms specifically organised to support the pedagogy. Amongst other developments trainees will learn how to develop assessment systems, create sensory journeys, use Tac Pac sessions and make the best use of technology to support learning. Trainees will be shown how to relate teaching and learning to specific stages of delayed development.
Trainees will use a method of teaching that will significantly increase a pupil’s ability to demonstrate progress and enjoy learning.
The training team consists of experienced teachers and speech and language therapists who have years of experience in working with pupils and young people with Severe Learning Needs. Trainees will work in small groups and will be led in a supportive way by the trainers.
